Privacy Policy — ViewAsPDF
Effective date: July 1, 2026 Operated by: Blufrogs Production Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: support@viewaspdf.com
1. Overview
ViewAsPDF is a browser extension that captures web pages as images or PDF documents. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how it is processed, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
This policy covers the ViewAsPDF browser extension, the website viewaspdf.com, and the backend services at api.viewaspdf.com (collectively, the "Service").
2. The data we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture URL from Google.
- Support tickets. When you contact support we collect the email address, subject, and message you submit, and any file you choose to attach.
- Email feature (Pro). When you use the Pro feature that emails a capture, we process the recipient address, subject, message text, and the attached capture for the purpose of delivering that email.
2.2 Information created by your use of the Service
- Captures. Page captures are generated locally in your browser. A capture is uploaded to our servers only when you actively use the Pro "email" feature; in that case it is stored transiently and deleted immediately after the email is sent (see Section 6).
- Local capture history. When history is enabled, the extension keeps up to ten captures and their metadata only on this computer: the page title, source URL, and capture date and time. This data is not uploaded by the history feature and can be deleted from the extension.
- Usage counters. We keep per-day counts of captures and emails associated with your account to enforce plan limits.
- Email log. For each email sent through the Service we record the recipient address, subject, delivery status, and timestamp, for abuse prevention and customer support.
- Authentication tokens. We store a one-way hashed (SHA-256) representation of the sign-in token used by the extension. The token itself is never stored in readable form.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Technical data. Our hosting and logging infrastructure may record your IP address, browser/user-agent string, and the extension version, for security, debugging, and fraud prevention.
- Cookies. We use a single, strictly necessary session cookie on api.viewaspdf.com to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- Audience measurement. The website may use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and selected aggregated events, such as clicks on installation buttons. We do not send page content, email addresses, or capture data in these events.
2.4 Payment data
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all purchases. We never receive or store your full payment card details. We receive from Lemon Squeezy only a subscription identifier, a customer identifier, your plan, status, renewal date, and a customer-portal link.
2.5 Page content
The ViewAsPDF extension reads the content of the web page you choose to capture only at the moment you trigger a capture, and only for the purpose of producing your capture. It does not continuously monitor your browsing, and it does not transmit page content to us except as described in Section 2.2 (Pro email feature).
3. Why we use your data (purposes)
| Purpose | Data used | |---|---| | Create and secure your account | email, name, hashed token, session cookie | | Provide the capture, email and ticket features | captures, email fields, ticket fields | | Enforce free/paid plan limits | usage counters | | Process subscriptions | subscription identifiers from Lemon Squeezy | | Prevent abuse and fraud, debug issues | email log, IP, user-agent, version | | Respond to support requests | ticket data | | Measure and improve the website | page views, aggregated events, and technical data |
4. Legal bases
Depending on the law applicable to you, we rely on: the performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, service improvement), your consent (where required, e.g. for optional features), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Who we share data with (sub-processors)
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the Service:
| Provider | Role | Location | |---|---|---| | Vercel Inc. | Application hosting, serverless functions, file storage (Blob) | United States | | Neon Inc. | Database hosting | United States | | Resend | Transactional email delivery | United States | | Lemon Squeezy | Payment processing / Merchant of Record | United States | | Google LLC | Optional sign-in (OAuth) | United States |
Each provider is bound to process data only on our instructions and to protect it appropriately.
6. Data retention

- Support-ticket attachments: retained while the ticket is open and for a reasonable period after resolution, then deleted.
- Email log entries: retained for abuse prevention for a limited period.
- Account data: retained for as long as your account exists.
- Subscription records: retained as required for accounting and tax.
When you delete your account, associated personal data is deleted or anonymized, except where we must retain it to comply with legal or tax obligations.
7. International transfers
Our infrastructure is located in the United States. If you access the Service from Quebec, elsewhere in Canada, the European Union, or another region, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards and our providers' contractual commitments for these transfers.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; withdraw consent; obtain a portable copy; and lodge a complaint with a regulator.
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@viewaspdf.com. You may also delete your account at any time, which removes your personal data as described in Section 6.
Residents of Quebec may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. Residents of other jurisdictions may contact their local data-protection authority (in the rest of Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada).
9. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed authentication tokens, scoped database access, and signed, verified payment webhooks. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 14. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email. The "Effective date" above indicates the latest revision.
